a scrapbook of future artist maker: the exhibition that I’ve curated for the nerve centre. featuring artists from all across europe who use new tools of digital fabrication, hardware hacking, and themes of creative commons and collaborative creativity.
the show continues at the nerve visual gallery in ebrington in derry till feb 2017 with a full workshop programme at the weekends, an opportunity to see and use some of the equipment used by the artists, such as 3d printers, laser cutters etc. it then tours to fab lab limerick and ultra lab in madrid.
follow nerve visual on facebook for more info.
in 2012 I worked with void gallery to present the first iteration of Endless War by YoHa and matthew fuller – featuring one gallery dominated by the real-time processing of 76,000 files from the wiki-leaks afghanistan war archive – real-time data processing, multi-channel sound and image projection
now for nerve visual gallery as part of the Future Artist Makers exhibition I’ve asked YoHa to make a new screen-based work exploring how digital fabrication worked as a methodology in their artist-led socially engaged art and citizen science project, Wrecked on the Intertidal Zone
held on a raspberry pi that has just arrived, we unpack and install next week – opens 26th nov
